Summary

All Gideon wanted was a friend。

After waking up in the afterlife to discover he died, Gideon has nowhere to go。 The world around him feels strange, utterly false, and he struggles to let go of the past he was ripped away from。

Gideon never expects his new, monstrous friend to nibble his way into his heart, or give him purpose in death。 His wings are soft, his body strong, and his skull face oddly compelling, but what point is there in desiring more when their future is meaningless?

All Aleron wanted was his kindred。

Having been violently separated from his twin, Aleron is left behind in Tenebris。 Unlikely events lead him into an adventure with a pretty human, who entrances him more with every step they take。 Gideon is funny yet confusing, and he makes desire sink into Aleron like a frustrating set of claws。

Aleron’s heart is big, it’s ready to love, and it’s fond of the male he has in his keeping。 But things do not always go as promised, even when Aleron is given the potential to have everything he wants。

Will Aleron be able to keep those important to him close, or will he come to regret the choices he’s made?

Yet again Opal has stunned me with her incredible world。 This is my first M/M book。 And I'm the type that was worried I couldn't enjoy it fully because I like to insert myself in the shoes of a character to fully immerse myself。 But Opal taught me wrong。 I was so unbelievably head over heels for Aleron and Gideon。 The beautiful friendship and treatment of each other had me SWOONING。 Absolutely red faced kicking my feet type swooning。 Loved it loved it LOVED it。 M/M may be a new fav for me now。 Yet again Opal has stunned me with her incredible world。 This is my first M/M book。 And I'm the type that was worried I couldn't enjoy it fully because I like to insert myself in the shoes of a character to fully immerse myself。 But Opal taught me wrong。 I was so unbelievably head over heels for Aleron and Gideon。 The beautiful friendship and treatment of each other had me SWOONING。 Absolutely red faced kicking my feet type swooning。 Loved it loved it LOVED it。 M/M may be a new fav for me now。 。。。more

Gideon and Aleron make such a great couple, Aleron is patient and loyal and Gideon is playful and open minded。 Together they form a life for themselves then work hard to rebuild that life when things change。 They are tested time and again but prove that love, patience and understanding can win。

Wow… Don’t get me wrong I love MM stories, but none I have read have been quite as well done as A Soul To Steal。 This book had such a realistic exposure to a soft innocence without deleting out the masculine qualities of the characters。 Everytime I read a book by Opal I don’t know how she’s going to beat her last book, but she does and I’m always amazed。 The romantic challenges in this book to their story was next level, I really fell inlove with these guys! The Ultimate Cinnamon RollI have so many things I want to say about this book, but first things first: Opal — thank you。 For going there。 Sincerely, Yaoi simps everywhere。 Now without further ado, let’s get into it。 ‘A Soul To Steal’ follows on directly from its predecessor book, ‘A Soul To Revive’, and delights readers with a satisfying amount of highly anticipated answers to a variety of questions that have been burning since the first instalment in the Duskwalker Brides series, ‘A Soul To Kee The Ultimate Cinnamon RollI have so many things I want to say about this book, but first things first: Opal — thank you。 For going there。 Sincerely, Yaoi simps everywhere。 Now without further ado, let’s get into it。 ‘A Soul To Steal’ follows on directly from its predecessor book, ‘A Soul To Revive’, and delights readers with a satisfying amount of highly anticipated answers to a variety of questions that have been burning since the first instalment in the Duskwalker Brides series, ‘A Soul To Keep’, was released。 So for anyone looking to dabble in this ever-growing, ever-making-you-breathless monster romance series, please heed the Author’s Note or START FROM THE BEGINNING (seriously, you’ll be missing out on so much spank-bank material otherwise)。 That said, ‘A Soul To Steal’ is most definitely NOT a book you want to miss out on if M/M is your thing, so even if you don’t wanna read five books of world building to get here… *whispers* Do it for the plot… Our main human protagonist this time around is a truly heartwarming young man by the name of Gideon。 Adopted brother of Emerie, our previous main hero, his confident and optimistic personality is a wonderfully refreshing addition to our growing list of Brides (tip of the hat to Opal for keeping that title for him — I approve)。 What you see is what you get with Gideon, and the man is not afraid to tell ‘em how he really feels。 An advantageous trait to have when he finds himself helplessly falling for our very loveable pink-eyed Mavka。 And really, can you blame him? The poor guy never stood a chance。 It was over as soon as he was caught in the beams of those bright pink orbs… or was it? Anyway。 Aleron。 I think the entire fandom has filed our latest Duskwalker under the “protect at all costs” category。 This beautiful specimen had me weak, lost in fantasies of putting my favourite Oodie on and snuggling inside his silky smooth wings for cuddles。 I spent half the book conflicted and at war with my hormones — how could I possibly get all hot and bothered by such a sweet lil “fluffy sky puppy”? It seemed wrong on so many levels… Until our sweet Mavka hit me with some of the hottest one-liners I think I’ve heard in the series to date。 Observe: “But you have not taken your favourite part of me yet, little spring…” MA’AM。 You had no right messing with my insides — or Gideon’s — in such an expert manner… Plz do it again in the next book。 In all honesty though, it was the contrast in Aleron’s personality that did it for me。 One moment sweet as pie, the next — oh wait… sorry Gideon was the pie — wait, no — Moving on! I’m sure at this point that everyone is aware of the trend between the Duskwalker orb colours and what I like to call their “default personalities”。 But have you noticed this trend coinciding with the themes prevalent in each book? It’s part of why I love this series so much and why I consider Opal to be a brilliant writer。 If you haven’t yet, you will with ‘A Soul To Steal’。 This book has many themes, but without question it’s the affection and love that outshine the rest。 She well and truly had me in my feels at all times。 I would like to draw attention to another aspect of this book that I found interesting; love languages。 I personally loved that Opal included this topic as it was such an important part of both of their personalities and featured regularly throughout the book。 Coincidentally mine and Gideon’s are the same — probably why I enjoyed his character so much — but Aleron had his own way of showing his affection through, you guessed it, his wings。 As the first and only Duskwalker to have them (so far) they are integral to his individuality and an easy indicator of his emotions, and Opal did a fantastic job using them to really bring Aleron to life。 ‘A Soul To Steal’ is a truly beautiful addition to the Duskwalker Brides series and couldn’t have come at a better time。 After the massive explosion of plot in the last book — among other things — it was a lovely change of pace that I believe was needed。 It had me hopelessly starry-eyed all the time, positively drooling half the time, and full blown cackling at a few rather memorable instances — all while taking the time to resolve many fan theories and questions。 It has certainly set the stage for the next three Duskwalker Brides books。 I shall be anxiously awaiting for the next instalment in the Duskwalker Brides series, ‘A Soul To Protect’, of which one thing is for certain: I am very, VERY excited to read about a certain ssssmexy Mavka。 。。。more

Ok so to start I want to say that while the rest of these books can be read as standalone, they should be read in order for full understanding of the nuances of the series。 HOWEVER in order to read this book you MUST read the previous book A Soul to Revive as this book contains information that is directly related to the events that occur in Book 5。On to the story! Yes, I did。 Did I enjoy it? Once again also, yes I really did。 However, there are just some actions that still wound me and I think only time can take care of that。▪️Key points:-A Soul to Steal is not a standalone, it is part of a interconnected plot so it is recommended to at least read book five, A Soul to Revive, to better understand this book。-Aleron: Ingram's twin brother。 Ingram's book is the fifth in the series, A Soul to Revive。-Gideon: Emerie's adopted brother。 Emerie is the FMC in book five, A Soul to Revive。I received this book as an ARC, this is my honest review。 。。。more

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This book was out of my usual trope, but I had to read it cause I am in love with this series!! I am so glad I did! This book was everything I didn’t know I needed。 Aleron had golden retriever energy, while being a bone daddy, and I was OBSESSED!! I started off slow, and then finished it in a day。 Opal, you’re an amazing author。 Every time something new is introduced, it doesn’t add confusion- such as Aleron’s grandma 👀。 The books flow sooo well, and are well-written。 Some series introduce somet This book was out of my usual trope, but I had to read it cause I am in love with this series!! Amazing!! Seeing the closure Gideon got to experience was also amazing, and I think it was needed for Gideon to fully embrace Aleron。 Also, who else is curious about the private cave?? 👀 to me, it shows the Weldir truly cares about his children, and the Owl Witch, but can’t fully form himself to be “present” in their lives。 His statues are the only way he can be around his “little ones” when he can’t be with his family。 I keep going on。。 but this book was amazing!! Seeing Merikh again, and seeing Orpheus’s baby 🥹。 I cannot imagine what I will do if this series ends 🥲。 Opal has climbed the ranks to being in my top 5 authors, and I think I will always be excited when another book comes out! So, thank you, Opal。 For introducing us to this beautiful world, and the Mavka’s who live within ♥️。 。。。more

Heavy, beautiful love story with happy ending!! Great read for those who smile through the worst of times so you don’t break ❤️❤️This book in the duskwalker series is the one that connected with my heart fully。 This couple reminded me very much of my own relationship, Gideon being the more spicy and outspoken and aeleron loving him fully through all of his misgivings。 The way Gideon needed to heal his soul before fully giving it was a roller coaster of tears and love。 It was such a beautifully s Heavy, beautiful love story with happy ending!!
